Carpeting

I suppose when it's carpeting time, we could move Dad, his bed, the TV, the chair etc into one of the bedrooms for the day or two that it will take.

Meanwhile, if Dad's living in the sitting room now, I thought perhaps we don't need to carpet the hallway.

feeling down, didn't sleep well

I talked to Dad today and he said he didn't sleep well last night; he finally got to sleep around 5 am, he said.
He also seems a bit disturbed by the recent changes in his environment. I suppose he'd like nothing to change. But the reality is things have got to change; the flat was getting much too cluttered. I expect he'll get used to the new look in a week or so.

Letters for Rob

Ron, some letters arrived for you at Dad's; do you want me to open them and look, or just send them straight to you; just send me an e-m if you like, or ring.

things generally shaping up

Hi all, things are looking a bit better esp in the big bedroom. Matt has provided a newish and much better mattress, we've sorted out some nice pillows, sheets and ok duvet, looking quite nice in there. Sarah had been manically cleaning the kitchen and bathroom this morning, also cleared a shelf for each of us in the wardrobe.
Microwave, toaster and kettle all there. Dad was quite grumpy today about all his stuff being moved around and other things appearing. I reminded him that he could have been installed in a home for a couple of weeks, and this could have happened without him stressing. It will only get worse for him with the plumbing, decorating etc. Anyway he was generally grumpy. I think he quite likes the hot mills on wills, and the delivery people have been shown how to open his door properly after a bit of a fiasco yesterday when they didn't deliver his mill.
He is not at all keen on the possibility of using the commode.
The groovy chair hasn't turned up yet.
More soon,

Fi xxxx
